  • Extremely nice and quiet place. Peaceful ambiance. Food is homemade and very tasty. A go-to place after you have been at the golden pavilion. Or just skip the pavilion and the millions of tourists and directly go here.

  • Most darling little cafe right next to the bus stop. feels like you’re stepping back in time. We had the cafe latte, banana bread, vanilla pancakes, and honey butter toast. Everything was delicious and the service was great.

  • Very nice vibe. The employees were very nice and the cafe had an oldtimy wooden look. The food was well priced and very delicious. You could only pay in cash when we were there but since it is real sticky cheap it is easy doable.

  • Had breakfast at this cute little café this morning and totally loved it. It’s run by the sweetest old couple was so friendly and warm. We tried the set breakfast menu, and honestly, it was such a great deal. The coffee was freshly brewed and hit the spot. The egg cucumber sandwich was super fresh and refreshing, and the pancakes were soft and tasty. The place has this old-school Japanese vibe really cozy and kind of feels like a trip back in time. Just a lovely, peaceful way to start the day. Would 100% go again!

  • Coffee Kobo has the Best coffee in Japan! I’m not even exaggerating. We found coffee in Japan, generally speaking, to be bitter. But a coffee Kobo was simply perfect. I saw a TikTok that recommended this place, it’s right by the golden temple and I’m so glad I listen. They specialize in siphon coffee (vacuum coffee) which we didn’t even know it was a thing. W also tried their hot pressed egg salad, lettuce sandwich and banana bread. So good! Our last day in Kyoto we went out of our way to go to coffee kobo one last time. The 2 people working there are very nice, the guy (sorry didn’t catch his name) explained my husband how the siphon coffee worked. We absolutely loved this place!

  • I had toast with ham and cheese. The bread was fluffy with crispy outside. The savory of ham and cheese was perfect. I added a bit of black pepper and Tobasco sauce. I truly savored it! For a drink, I got Matcha latte with oat milk, and it was soo smooooth. The owner made the matcha latte from the matcha powder and milk. As like in other Japanese cafes/restaurants, you need to add your own sugar as you like. A very nice breakfast! The owner was so sincere and dedicated to make each food and drink. The restaurant was decorated in western style with classical music at play in the background . Truly a gem!
